Statsbygg and the environment
As builder, manager and developer of state owned property, Statsbygg has co-ownership in the country's total environmental challenges.
Energy consumption, mainly based on oil and electricity, correct handling of hazardous substances, increased recycling and less waste for disposal are the main environmental challenges in the building and property sector.
Statsbygg's goal is to incorporate environmental consideration in all our projects and procedures and thus contribute to the total quality of all our activities.
Environmental survey
From March to September 2004 The Directorate of Public Construction and Property, Statsbygg, carried out an extensive environmental survey.
Environmental objectives 2005-2009
Statsbygg's environmental objectives for 2005 to 2009 were agreed upon in November 2004. By setting objectives and taking measures to achieve them, Statsbygg will work towards reducing our most important environmental impacts.
